I have a hp compaq with the same wifi card (4311) and even teh
restricted drivers dont work. I tried several fixes and patches, but it
didnt work I am running 7.10 atm, I know that 8.04 is out, but there
are even less fixes for that at the moment, and the wifi card doesnt
seem to work on there

Any chance it is about the locale? that nvIdIa thing - not nvidia?
Because in turkish we have i and ı (i without the dot on top) as
lowercase. I had some issues like this before. Now i tried the envy -t
mode and it installed, I will restart and see what happens. I wrtote now
in case İ can't get it
While the fonts with correct metrics might be the best option for
OpenOffice printing, they look much worse in small sizes on screen.

I don't know how to use apport. It used to come up automagically when
something crashed but that has been disabled apparently.
Is there some HowTo or other doucmentation for Apport?
I didn't find anything in the wiki and there is no man-page.

Gnome volume control segfaults on start

As I said it installed in -t mode, but same thing happened when I
