I had the same problem yesterday: on 05/02 the pre-release updated fixed
most of the issues, but the new 05/07 pre-release update renders
evolution unusable (exchange connector loses connection after few
minutes from start-up). I then uninstalled all evolution packages,
disabled hardy pre-released
here's the debdiff of the package I created. please note that while this
fixes the cedilla issue it breaks acute characters. So the patch is
mostly useless and should not be used as a solution or workaround. I'm
posting this only for information.

According to the GNOME 2.22 Release Notes, PolicyKit should be a part of

I experience the same behavior using the brightside version in hardy. A
temporary workaround is to ensure that brightside is not loaded before
the panel applets load. After that, it can be loaded manually and still
provide the same functionality.

I have Hardy with latest update. My ASUS F3JC can play sound but not
record either using integrated microphone or plugged microphone.

I'm getting the same thing. Install Updates prompts me for my password,
then a progress bar dialog that says "Reading package information,"

I can confirm the driver from Hardy Proposed fixes this problem. I
reverted the workaround before updating the driver to make sure it would
work for someone that didn't do the workaround. And it's working fine
now, no more crashes.

The package installed flawlessly on my Intel based laptop. When I try to
install on a clunky old desktop that I use as a testing machine, dpkg reports a
segfault. The specifications of the machine are:

Well, this is going to be my first 'bug'. I agree with you that the
volume control is a bit too linear, so I chose this 'bug'. I am working

No matter what I do (and I have tried everything I can think of, followed
all How To's I could get my hands on), but I cannot get the Sound
Recorder to work. Now there was a time it worked -
+1. Seeing this problem on a new EVGA e-7100/630i board that also has
the crappy Marvell NIC. Running on 8.04/Hardy release.
