I have this problem too, even earlier, just loading the editor is enough
to make it crash.
I read something about dealing with removing the Evolution icon. I
removed Evolution too, and now I am thinking that problems started after
removing it. Might there be a link between the two, or is that

Adding a Google Calendar to evolution makes my system hang
when clicking the clock in the gnome panel.
After killing bonobo and removing the calendar everything works again.
It seems to me that the google calendar in evolution is flaky.

When a launcher has an SVG icon, scaling it to be large results in the image to
look like an upscaled image.
If the icon is in the users ~/.icons/ this can be worked around by opening the
launcher in a text editor and removing the path from
