That is the reason why TexturedVideo is disabled per default in Ubuntu
and afaik it is still in Intrepid with Intel graphic. X11 video output
is no option since is consumes much more cpu and looks very ugly
(grainy) if resized or looked in full screen but of course you can
change it for your
hoilding back intrepid uploads due to alpha-2 freeze. Packages are

The current version of the hardy kernel (2.6.24-19.34) still does not

It seems it has problems with raising permissions. Any operation that
would require superuser's permission crashes System Monitor. I find it
particularly annoying when trying to kill some other user's process.
ATM the only way I know of to get around this bug is to launch SM

I can partly reproduce this: logging in and logging out will sometimes
reproduce the problem - but not always.
Also, the problem occured during a session, i.e. compose-key worked, then 5
minutes later compose key suddenly doesn't work.

Confirmed here as well. I upgraded from Dapper to Hardy, in Dapper 1600x1200
worked fine, in Hardy I'm dropped to 1280x1024, and Xorg.0.log shows this
('grep 1600x /var/log/Xorg.0.log' - I won't attach the entire files for now):
(II) MGA(0): Not using default mode 1600x1200 (mode clock too high)
I installed Evolution 2.22.3 a couple of days ago and this has resolved
the problem.

itself into an infinite loop before displaying the partition list. If I
kill it off and run it by hand from the console, I see error messages on
