I WORKED OUT THE PROBLEM
It's all about the PulseAudio, the new sound server in 8.04 Hardy,.
Instead of that every application has its way to access the sound card,
PulseAudio becomes a common (gate) to access ur sound card. The problem
is that not all applications can deal with the new sound

UPDATE: I don't think the problem is FLASH.
Rationale:
1) Completely uninstalled FLASH 10 via Snaptic (the way it was installed)
2) Reboot
3) Install FLASH 9
4) Tried MIRO; same behaviour - no video
5) Reinstalled MIRO same behavior
6) Upgraded to FLASH 10; FLASH works everywhere.
Conclusion:
Bryce, thanks for the update and your good work on the issue. Keeping
the community in the loop is one reason why I'm glad I switched over to
Ubuntu back when I did, even if it means tripping over an odd bug or
two.

I've had a similar issue with an MCP55 ethernet driver, on a different
motherboard (a generic PC one) in a more recent kernel -- after about
250 days of uptime, receiving about 70-80GBytes/day, transmitting about
90-100GBytes per day the network just fell off, not even responding to
pings

Same problem here in Hardy (also, upon installing, it does not insert
anything into the menus). One workaround I found in some forums is to
open it by running the following command: 'kdenlive -nograb' (worked for
me). Here is my terminal output from simply running the 'kdenlive'
command:

I have a directory in which I created a symlink loop (to test a script I'm
working on for finding and cleaning up duplicate files).
Today I (accidentally) opened this directory with nautilus, causing it to crash
trying to resolve the symlinks.
I have deleted the patched 2.4.0 package in my PPA, as it been made
obsolete by the new 2.5.0 upstream in hardy-proposed.
