The screen's brightness is automatically adjusted to maximum after each
reboot of the system. I am using a Dell Inspiron 640m. The problem did
not exist in Feisty Fawn. But after the decision to upgrade to Hardy

I purged and reinstalled nvidia-glx-new as directed, and now the
resolution is correct again. Thanks for all the help! Sorry it took so
long for me to get back to this.
Now that I re-read your directions, I think I was supposed to type
sudo apt-get install linux-generic nvidia-glx

unable to correctly format the output if the tasks are displayed sorted by

I'm having the problem as reported by Ian Ohr. To be more precise, here
is what happen when I try to resume from suspend:
1. The mouse is extremely unresponsive
2. Keyboard works fine, however so I can still press the power button to bring
up the shutdown menu then followed by Alt-R to Restart.
