openSUSE has a patch at
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=241950 which fixes qemu to
use /dev/bus/usb instead of /proc/bus/usb. It doesn't quite apply
cleanly to current qemu, but it should be possible to port it without
much effort. They may also have a newer version in the package its
