If I disable automount, when I try to use the panel mounter, I get a box
saying "Mount Error", no other text, a DoNotEnter icon, and an OK

automatically installed. Without cm-super, the PDF files that LyX
produces (pdflatex, ps2pdf and dvipdfm) with default fonts have type 3

I can confirm this bug.. in fact, I'm two-for-two on the Ubuntu systems
I have. Maybe relevant: I use software RAID-1 for the root filesystems
of both systems. The initrd.img was properly created; the menu.lst was
just missing the "initrd" line. BUT: the menu.lst entries for the old

This is a bug in a combination of evince and libgnomeprint. Since
libgnomeprint is unmaintained you have a better bet getting evince to
work correctly. I suggest you file the bug against evince.

Hmmm, I've always found it messy to create "Shortcuts" to folders using
nautilus.
For example, I like to have a "shortcut" to my home folder or to
"Filesystem" on the desktop...
I can middle-drag the folder there, and get a link.. or type ln -s [shortcut]

Same problem in a clean installation,
When I try to move any file from Desktop to Home folder, or Moving a file from
any folder to Desktop, nautilus hangs for a few seconds and gives "error while
copying file"
