ALT+T brings up the 'Terminal' menu, and ALT+V brings up the 'view'

It's highly probable that this is related to the iwl3945 driver.
Unfortunately, I've experienced this bug even with the RF kill switch enabled

to give it a kick with ALT+SYSRQ+E when it gets stuck after the message
from the squashfs module.
The code for doing stuff if $TORAM is set (to non-zero length, IIRC)
is there, but nothing sets $TORAM. So do it yourself

I finally reproduced the boot failure with 2.6.27-3.3smb4, same
symptoms. So I suppose my issue is slightly different than Alfredo's. I
keep it because the suspend problem was more of a blocker to me. Looking
forward a rc5-based kernel that would fix both issues ;)

Thanks for upgrading to the 2.4.2 version, which is much more stable
than 2.4.0 and 2.4.1.
One additional consideration when producing Bacula packages. I
regularly release well tested patches to bugs to the bacula-bugs section
of the Source Forge release are. When you are building new packages,
I tried pci=noacpi by itself, still locked.
Trying pci=noacpi assign-busses had the same result.

I'd like to note (as said in duplicate Bug #252150) that blinking on
traffic is bad behavior in terms of usability.
A blinking LED (or GUI element, ...) is hard to ignore, and will in most humans
gain focus constantly, and annoy them.

thank you for your bug report, the issue seems to be an upstream one,
could you open the bug on bugzilla.gnome.org where people writting the
software will read it? it's not likely somebody will work on that in an
ubuntu specific way

In fact, while it's clearly a dpkg bug that it's tripping an assertion,

I downloaded and burned the Alpha 5 ISO to CD last night.
I rebooted my system and started from the CD (I had to run it in safe
graphics mode to get it to work as otherwise the internal speaker would
not stop beeping and the screen went to power saving mode as it could
not detect an input).

Hi, just some notes to add:
When using the latest radeon drm module (1.29, included since linux 2.6.26) and
a recent version of the -ati driver “MigrationHeuristic” should not be used.

I can confirm this, same Intrepid AMD64 (fully updated), same packages

(Risky) workaround, by forcing the libxen3 install (overwriting the libxen3-dev
libblktap.so):
sudo dpkg -i --force-all
/var/cache/apt/archives/libxen3_3.3.0-1ubuntu5_amd64.deb
sudo apt-get install -f
