try to help where I can with it, as it is my personally preferred

This issue only occurs for me in Intrepid. In Hardy I had no problems
with my dual monitor configuration, but Intrepid I get the following

What I think is happening is that as I have two drives, Ubuntu is confused as
to which one I want to use. Brasero 0.8.1 will work with one drive but not the

Yes, this symptom is still reproducible on 8.10 beta.
As a workaround, I have the following line in my .emacs file:
(set-frame-font "-misc-fixed-medium-r-normal--15-140-75-75-c-90-koi8-r")
This font is however not so nice.

I verified that the patch provided in the KDE bug report works
correctly. Would it be possible to integrate this patch directly into
the Kubuntu packages? There does not seem to be too much activity on the
KDE side...

works in skype, but while skype is running, no other application can

I've suffered this same bug under Hardy, using Brasero 0.8.1. I don't
have the log file produced, but was mostly identical to the one in the
first comment of this bug report (except that my file names were
different, of course ;))).
I thought that the bug was related to the file integrity check pl
Driver seems to be ok, eth0 come up automagically.
Now I think there are problems with knetwork manager: i wrote manually
resolv.conf and i have to restar network from a shell to make dns work.
But probably this is another story.
