I gave a try to "sudo dpkg -i linux-image-2.6.27-1-generic_2.6.27-1.1_i386.deb"
and it seamed to work without all_generic_ide. But I was unable to set the

I have the exact same behaviour with an external USB webcam from
Logitech (model "Quickcam Deluxe for Notebooks"). It uses the UVC
driver. It works fine in Ekiga and other apps not accessing it over
GStreamer. It also worked fine with GStreamer under Hardy. Now I also
experience the limitation to 1

I can confirm the observations made by the_one(2) and Emanuele Pane. On my
machine, RealTek RTL8111/6168B network adapter:
- works on Hardy (Kubuntu) vanilla install (the original 8.04 CD)

I have the same error here. Pidgin freezes if it tries to play the sound:

I can't find a way to do it. Unchecking "Use replace table" on the tab
Options doesn't fix this problem and removing all entries from the
replace table also doesn't fix it.

I too had problems with files from Olympus E-520.
I picked dcraw.c 8.88 from its homepage compiled as described there, and
finally copied dcraw to /usr/local/bin using "sudo cp". Then it takes
precedence over the older dcraw executable in /usr/bin. Works fine.
This is Ubuntu 7.10.
