I totally like this idea. Other stuff to clean:
- Leftover config files from removed packages (purge).
- The APT package cache!
- Autoremove packages (obsolete)
For stuff like the fonts, thumbnails, logs, etc, there should be a
setting where we can say Clean anything older than ___ days.

After reading the availability of OpenOffice release 3.0.0 I spent some
time upgrading to this release.
After upgrading and trying what is displayed in the bug I found out that
this is solved in
After what happened with the previous bug, I made sure all my local
installations were properly removed, so I do or did not have any local
installations of gvfs.
The bug did fix itself after I reinstalled the nautilus and gvfs
packages in the package manager and rebooted, sorry for the
disabling the visualization fixed the errors. filing separate bug for

Hm. I think I got this situation now.
Nautilus doesn't start, even if I kill it away and it's relaunched.
Unfortunately nautilus -c doesn't yield anything useful and starting
from command-line doesn't do anything but hang as well...
Please consider re-opening this bug with a high priority, as
I don't have python scripts, btw., don't even have a python-extensions
directory, so it's probably not related to python scripts.

The issue is that the behavior of sudo changed in Hardy when running
sudo under nohup. '-k/-K' won't invalidate/remove the
/var/run/sudo/username/unknown (aka nohup PTY) entry unless run
under nohup. Gutsy and earlier didn't seem to have a concept of a nohup

Same here, I have a atheros wifi card, I have to rmmod and reinsert
ath_pci, so I don't really believe this is an issue with knetworkmanager
(at least not in my case) but possibly acpi tools or kernel based?

my network key, if I press Deny, it just keeps coming back up.

Often these issues occur due to issues with the monitor's EDID. EDID
issues are monitor-specific, so that can account for why swapping
monitors seems to make the issue go away.
An Xorg.0.log from booting with that monitor *should* display the EDID.

Dear Kubuntu people,
I have tried out Kubuntu 8.4 because I like KDE 3.5 very much, it is
very stable. I tried to connect to my wireless network, but I had a
problem. After searching on Google I ended up on this page, so I hope my
additions will be valuable.
I right-clicked the KNetworkManager
Short answer is no.
Unfortunately the computer on which I was using Ubuntu with the AR511
wireless card has broken, so I won't be doing any more testing on it.
The hardware may have been responsible though since the motherboard in
which the card was integrated no longer functions. Sorry that I
