Don't know about Arch. Acer laptops don't seem to be very

these methods, as well as purging firefox, and neither was successful.
It seems to be a problem with my specific user, not with the flash
installation. I say this since when I create a fresh user it can use
flash with no problem.

I was able to successfully copy a hierarchy of 160,640 files, 14,965
directories, comprising 5GB of data.
I do have 4GB of memory in this system (and 6GB of swap), so I'm highly
unlikely to hit any out-of-memory errors.

Another me too on this bug. I've also upgraded from 8.04 to 8.10 and am
unable to boot the2.6.27-7-generic kernel at all and am having to drop
back to the 2.6.24-21 generic kernel.
The motherboard is a Jetway M2A692-GDG/VP, with 2GB of RAM and an AMD
Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5200+.
I'm adding the dmesg output as well. I'm happy to provide more
information if necessary.

Got the issue here after upgrading from Hardy to Intrepid. Weird
corruption of window titlebars when moving mouse over them. More
specifically, seems to trigger when moving over window control icons at
top right corner of windows (minimize etc). Have not seen the issue

Absolutely, automatic mounting of encrypted ~/Private cannot work with
automatic logins.
Mounting of encrypted ~/Private requires you to enter your password at
login. If you have not done so, the required key is not present, and
