I have MCP55PXE, the 680i chipset.
nv_sata seem to also have issues with my Mtron SSD drive, which will timeout
once every three reboots or so.
There is really something fishy going on, -7 kernel doesn't seam to handle
anything but normal platter harddrives.

i'm having the same problem, same device icon 225 on a HP TX2120us
tablet with intrepid 8.10 32bit.
network manager does not recognize the modem at all, tried with a huawei

that's correct. the ubuntu ffmpeg package does not enable xvid. The
libraries aren't available in debian, and AFAIUI they are more or less
obsolete.
Can you perhaps explain why xvid is useful/necessary to you considering
that ffmpeg has h263/h264 encoding support via x264?

I confirm that with the old version I had to grab the input focus in kvm
to use the mouse. With the -proposed version, the mouse works seamlessly
between kvm guest and the host system.

on a HP Proliant ML580 G5 machine.
The installation goes fine up to the end, but when it reboots, than the machine
won't start. I couldn't fix the bootloader with SuperGrubDisk. Any hints?

Since I have upgraded from Hardy to Intrepid (GNOME), my microphone
doesn't work anymore. I never had any problems with it in hardy, even
Windows applications in wine could use the microphone.
It's a simple headset microphone plugged to the sound card (no usb).

/var/lib/dpkg/info in the filebrowser is bearable with the update now,

I think I have the same problem (then again, I may have miss-understood it

Whenever anything gksudo comes up, it just hangs. Normal sudo takes ages (type
command, wait wait wait, host could not be resolved, enter password) I have to
do everything from the command line, and it takes age

Vaio VGN FS840/W (915GM chipset) here, using the latest xserver-xorg-
video-intel v2:2.4.1-1ubuntu10. I also have this problem with my
backlight. After quite some time debugging the gnome brightness applet
and gnome-power-manager, I realized gnome-power-manager is seemingly
dependent upon xrandr.
All I know is that you should be using driver iwlagn instead of iwl4965
and that I'm having a lot of problems connecting to my access point
since I upgraded to Intrepid.
Also when I finally connect, the transfer rate never gets higher than 2
MB/s :(

Just set up a new 8.10 server with LAMP, SSH, Samba, and mail, and installed
the GUI (apt-get install ubuntu-desktop).
Then tried to install ebox from synaptic and got and error: "ebox:
Depends: libapache-authcookie-perl but it is not installable"

I have the same problem. When I connect to 3G with wvdial (no serial
connection in NM), I can't use VPN connection configured in NM because
it is disabled (grey). It would be nice to have serial modem option in
network manager.
