I got this one CD disc with a manufacturing defect on track 9 of 15.
The extraction disc writing stops at track 9. The CD is stuck and can't
get past the errors. rhythmbox doesn't time-out. It's stuck, too.

Just tried your suggestion of removing the tsched=0 and then running
pulseaudio -k; start-pulseaudio-x11.
Did not have any luck (keeps saying daemon startup failed).
Anyway the log of what I did (minus the editing of the conf file) is
attached.

Ignore the last post (I did not read all of the output of the pulseaudio
-v -v) (I commented out the #tsched=0 and it tried to use that as an
argument).
Anyways testing your commands again now with the config file set right.

Luke that seems to have worked. No problems as of yet no crackling or
distortions of any kind and the cpu usage is down to a total of 3%.
What was that line telling pulse to do? (don't tell me pulse was
outputting through itself =S?).

I have the same problem as Leonardo:
X gets stuck after resuming from screensaver, after a log period of inactivity
(no keyb/mouse input), mostly after a night long. Ctrl+F2, Ctrl+Alt+Backspace
and Ctrl+Alt+Del don't help.

I have done some more testing. The T400 has an integrated Intel graphics
chip and an ATI card. When using the ATI card, the problem occurs. When
using the Intel card, it does not. If I use the ATI Catalyst Control
Centre app to change the settings, the problem does not occur.

I'm seriously out of ideas. I've use nvidia based laptop and desktop and
I've tested both and none exhibit these errors. The final thing that I
can think of is trying to upgrade to the latest nvidia drivers on your
own system, or trying to use one of the Jaunty live-cds to test out the
latest Xorg

I've checked, there is apparently no other dependency in the picture.
Those are all in Debian main so they should be fine for universe.
oscache probably also needs to be moved together with ehcache and
libhibernate3 since there also is a cycling build-dep between

Also, not only /var didn't get mounted, all non-root filesystems didn't.
This includes /home (also lvm) and /boot (non-lvm). I'm guessing this is
because of script crashes in the init process due to the bug.

It's often useful to launch nautilus with root privileges, but to do
this a user should launch it via cli using gksudo. I think it's not user
friendly. Why not include it either in the applications or places menu
or insert a button inside nautilus that permits this?
