because if there is no nautilus window opened, then changing

If you log out and log back in, it should take effect. It's similar to
the way when you change a localisation/translation, where you have to
logout.
Leonard, please note that we don't set a vesa mode on the kernel command
line by default. usplash entirely relies on a correct usplash.conf, and
an existing vesa mode for this.
It seems that the problem for Hernando and pitwalker is that
usplash/svgalib picks a wrong video mode.

So I counted the number of float and double words in the source code of the
various libraries proposed here with:
egrep -hrwc double\|float . | xargs | sed 's/ / + /g' | bc
that gave:
- pixman: 66 = likely no vfp version
- cairo: 2423 = will have a vfp version
- pango1.0: 683 = will have a vfp

Firefox Segmentation fault on some flash website
The graphical tools DO list the same options as the xrandr command. That
means that if the autodetection has failed to identify a valid mode by
autodetection, you are screwed unless you like to edit xorg.conf. Then
these options show up in xrandr and in the graphical tool.
To fix the problem I

because the process hasnt had time to stop running

Yes changing the font helps. I see this only with the font variable

OK after the last update every problem seems to be back again. Could the
problem have something to do with SISI chipset for graphics. If I put a
lively internet page with a lot of flash it sometimes get better but
normally it is impossible to wake the computer after the screensaver
have kicked in.

Hi,
The VMWare keybord vs Linux (Ubuntu only?) issue continues. In 8.10 the
after effects of using VMWare Desktop in Ubuntu where easily solved by
executing the setxkbmap after switching back to the host.
But... in Ubuntu 8.10 it have turned to the worse. Now the setxkbmap
doesn't have any

Hi, if there is a patch, why is the bug still open? It is resolved in
gentoo and I don't know how to reproduce it, can someone who has
experienced the problem comment on that?
