Downloaded 64bit ISO for AMD and burned. Fired up wubi and elected to
install on reboot, and choose restart computer now.
Clickinf Finish simply takes me back to the main Wubi screen, and no
reboot occurs.

I tried the current state of Jaunty and this issue is still there. The
webcam doesn't work out of the box. However using the latest driver 1.4
stk11xx driver I managed to get it working. However Skype didn't quite
worked with it... but this is different issue.

For usability's sake, almost all settings should be able to revert back
to their original values. Customizability is great, and a user should be
able to play around to find the settings they like most, but sometimes,
the original settings were the best and it's hard to get it
In Empathy, when making a call, you can open a sidebar, and select video
settings from the dropdown menu and change the values for contrast,
brightness, etc, but you can't revert back to default. It's hard to get
things back to "just right", and it affects ALL applications that use
the webcam!

Bug 188444 – playback is unreliable and broken in Amarok and JuK using phon
Tested in Glade 3.6.0 (Jaunty) - the menu editor no longer allows a
menuitem to be changed after it is created so this cannot be reproduced.

Also I noticed that this problem might be with oxygen kwin style. I have
been trying with plastique style for a day and so far there is no
corruptions other than the dragon player full screen scroll bar.
When i was using kde 4.2 with qt 4.4 there was no such corruption
problem.

Strange, after re-installing everything and restarting it did not work.
I opened up the foomatic control panel (in applications>system tools)
and installed it from there using the "simple" foomatic driver and it
worked.

When I'm logged into X11, I cannot switch to any console using Ctrl-Alt-

I also have a Compal HEL80 and tried both ways, and and neither worked.
I've also tried to enable SHMConfig in /etc/hal/fdi/policy/shmconfig.fdi, also
with no luck. I even tried xinput set-int-prop "ETPS/2 Elantech Touchpad"
