It's consistent with how Windows tools work. By design, you can join as
many times as you want, and as long as you give it a Domain Admin
password it will overwrite the existing objects in AD (without any
warning). So I'd say the tools behave like they should.

The drive verified correctly on reboot (dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/null bs=1M -> no
messages).
The fault seems to occur more often when resuming on battery power (3 of 3 so
far). This might point to a hardware issue, but Intrepid didn't have this
problem.

active network connection! I have an 8600 GT video card, just installed
ubuntu 9.04, the restricted drivers window came up, I try to activate

Hi there. I experienced this as well. There seems to be AUDIT errors in
Xorg.0.log right after a crash, which I am not sure are related. I will
attach an example.
While discussing this matter with crdlb in the compiz #, he suggested
that replace the compiz "composer" by metacity's composer in gcon
forgot to say that this is maybe not gconf2's bug, but rather a bug in
things that use it. (esp. if the fix is a more useful error message.)

I was under the impression swap partitions are needed for only
suspending to disk (hibernation) as opposed to suspending to RAM
(sleep).

Should work. The problem looks like that it tries to execute the python
script before the python libraries are installed!

Well mythbrowser is not supported in 9.04 unfortunately. It may be
supported again with 0.22, but it wasn't able to be supported for 0.21.

I forgot to mention in my last comment that the error did appear on my
other computer.
Anyway, my other computer has slower USB ports—probably 1.0 or 1.1,
while my laptop's are 2.0. The copy took its time on the desktop. When I
compared the folder sizes again, there was only about 1MB's difference

Talkd does not seem to use the proper settings in inetd.conf. I believe
it should use 'udp4' rather than 'udp'. Changing this and adding the
'nobody' to the tty group seems to fix the permissions issues. This is
for talkd 0.17-13 on Ubuntu 9.04 (I also experience the same issues
before upgrading to
