I have been using 2.6.29.1 for a couple of days and the general

Removing "--choose-session=openbox-session" doesn't work for me in 9.04. After
login gnome starts metacity (or compiz) as window manager.
This solution worked for me in 8.10.

I'm not an alsa-info expert, but I can see that there are several volumes
related to "capture" and to "mic" that are not at their maximum volumes. Are
you trying to use an external mic (called "mic") or the built-in (called "front
mic")?
Use the terminal command "alsamixer -c0" to turn on all v
Is there any news on this? I'm still having the same problem in Jaunty
Jackalope (9.04).
