Still a problem in Jaunty. I have this sound totally disabled in
normal installations because it's so annoying and loud, but when using a
LiveCD I have no choice but to cover the laptop with a pillow every time
I reboot (which can happen a lot when debugging a boot issue.) It's

part" option KDE 4 either freezes or crashes and I had to restart the

I cannot reproduce the hang with a karmic kernel ( 2.6.30-6-generic ) on
the same machine that can easily reproduce it with a Jaunty kernel (
2.6.28-11-generic ).
