channels" in Kmix to bring settings for microphone input ; now I can
manage full sound settings with Kmix with microphone ; if I open gnome-

I was having troubleprinting a drawing from inkscape. It turned that
pdftops was failing. I cut down the drawing until I got a minimal
example, which turned out to be when all layers were invisible. I.e. the
PDF has no visible data.

I have the similar problem on my home computer. I have SB600 SATA controller
and see "softreset failed" messages during startup.
My Ubuntu 9.04 x64 works fine but I have soft-RAID 5 (mdadm) and this raid
start recalculation of all checksumms on each reboot. On this moment I just
keep my computer
I can confirm that the beeps only happen when shutting directly from
within a GNOME session; shutting down from KDE, or by logging out from
the GNOME session and then shutting down from GDM, don't cause any beeps
(not even one).

I've got everything installed so I only changed modeset=0 but result was
still the same and I couldn't switch to VT. So I commented : #i915
modeset=0 from /etc/module and /etc/initramfs-tools/modules ... and I
can run KDM on 2.6.30-6 but obviously there is no KMS enabled. I'm
adding 2 Xorg logs - o

I've installed the recently updated ati-driver-
installer-9-5-x86.x86_64.run and this problem is gone. Now, the screen
turns-off as expected.
So, this problem was originated from the previous ATI drivers, instead
from Ubuntu.

Unfortunately, this bug still exists in 9.04 Jaunty, causing the small
"v" being interpreted as an at-sign (@) and small "e" as an euro-sign
(€) - just like with AltGr pressed - using czech keyboard layout.
Pressing AltGr with these two letters produces them normally (v, e), so
it's simply reverse
Oh, libmp4v2-dev is in multiverse... dunno if that will complicate
things. I will investigate this further.

I completed a fresh installation of jaunty jackalope. During boot, I
get a brief period of corrupted display and finally the screen switches
to text output ending with Checking battery state [OK]. The system
displays keyboard input on the screen but the only key combination
I would like to nominate this for an SRU as described above.
Since I have no experience with the process whatsoever please let me know of

These crashes all seem to happening whenever X crashes, and its
perfectly reasonable for any X app to crash when X dies.
For those of you still having this problem, you should file a bug
against xorg-server or somesuch about a driver crash and attach a copy
of your /var/log/Xorg.0.log and /var/log
This bug is still apparent as of this date and is becoming increasingly
annoying. I recall this used to work before. I also recall the
functionality of this option working with my prior (approx 3 years ago)

As far as I know, running 2.6.30-rc6, I did not see this error. Upgrading from
2.6.28 to 2.6.30 fixed the error. A lot of errors.

I tested it and it behaves as the reporter says, but I'm not 100% sure whether
it's intentional or not. Do we want the graphical control to jump around while
typing?

I no longer think the CPU model is relevant to this bug. I just copied
the virtual machine to another host. (Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5335 @
2.00GHz). It didn't take long to panic.
