I had the same problem and used the same hack to make it work.
If you don't want to use a shell to start netbeans, you can put
export XMODIFIERS=''
in your /etc/profile.
That's not really clean since it may be unwanted for some other programs such

I am not sure how to reproduce the error. I saw the changes in synaptics-
history and tried to uninstall the packages that had been installed or
upgraded in the past week, but to no avail. Then, I saw that on the 3rd of
June, i had probably updated my system with the following updates:

experiment with including this into the upcoming wine-support package

Well, I remembered that I have disabled the WLAN (BCM4312) via BIOS so
that I can use my computer. So, to get you a version that shows the bug,
I re-enabled WLAN and rebooted. The system hard-locked as expected. I
powered off manually and, after disbabling the WLAN controller, I am

covers the dragdrop problem.

I've enjoyed using startup-manager for quite awhile, but Ubuntu is
moving to GRUB2 for default installations in Karmic. Old installs will
not be upgraded automatically though. Please consider adding support for
GRUB2.
