I just enabled Jaunty Proposed, and straight away the Quickcam E2500
works, albeit with a small green margin in the bottom of the frame.
Works with Skype straight out of the box, and the sound quality with

Huh? you are not making sense. All I am saying is that the logical link
libg2c.so pointing to the libg2c.so.0 library from the package is *missing*.
Without that link, any runtime, or otherwise, linking to the library WILL FAIL.

I don't see any functional purpose for this recommends. The mixer
applet doesn't need aumix installed, but instead functions on its own.
I'd imagine this is some kind of legacy thing from before the mixer
applet could work it's own magic.

additional info , upon examining /boot/grub/grub.cfg , the correct uuid was
used there even though grub2 wrote the wrong uuid in the menu.lst it generated
, including the chainloader line . so here is what seems to happen , on boot
grub2 goes to the correct drive

I have disabled "End Widget Mode on Click" in Compiz Config Manager, but
when I click on, move or interact with any Screenlet application running
on the widget layer in any way, the widget mode closes.
Also running Jaunty 9.04 Release, Compiz 1:0.8.2-0ubuntu

I just went to bugzilla.gnome.org, and
a) Read the titles of all open bugs against Gnome-Sound-Recorder
b) Searched bugs in all states (open, closed, ...) for comments that mention
"pulse" and then again for "pulseaudio".
None of those bugs describe this problem.

I have a project file which I saved in audacity. When I try to open up,
the tracks are visible, but it is impossible to do anything, as none of
the menus, buttons, or manipulation of the tracks causes *any* response.
Even clicking exit does noth
Thanks for your report. Musictracker 0.4.1 in Hardy and Intrepid are
quite old. I expect the problem won't occur with pidgin-musictracker in
Jaunty or Karmic. Are you able to test with one of these releases?
Please note that a backport has been requested at bug 316632.

If sl-modem was working for you properly in Hardy or Intrepid, then the
easy solution for Jaunty is to restore the modprobe file. (Look for the
file attached to this comment.)
The proper fix is likely a new udev rule.
