My patch just fixed the floppy driver loading, it wouldn't cause this bug - the bug would be elsewhere (ie. in the floppy driver or appropriate kernel subsystem) -- Linux thinks there’s a floppy drive when there’s not. Probing slows down bootup by almost a minute.
