Ah, I have found your problem in your Xorg.0.log.old. You do not have a
/etc/X11/xorg.conf which makes xserver use a default detection logic and
it has some problems with intel KMS when it is a module in that fbdev
tries to take over and crashes the server. it's most likely because
intelfb/vesafb

I have new netbook Mivvy L310 with Ubuntu Linux 8.04 pre-installed and I
installed latest version (9.04) too.
1 minute pause after boot I eliminated with kernel option thermal=off, becouse
detection of acpi thermal sensor is the cause of this issue.

My patch just fixed the floppy driver loading, it wouldn't cause this
bug - the bug would be elsewhere (ie. in the floppy driver or
appropriate kernel subsystem)

The wrong charge time estimate bug is still present in 9.04 Jaunty, Power
manager 2.24.2.
What is interesting, the Battery charge monitor (2.26.1) works fine, it gives
realistic charge time estimate.

When apturl has completed installing a package it shows a final dialog
telling me that the changes were applied. Although the installation is
already finished at that point the apt lock is still kept. This prevents
installation of other packages,
