I just ran grub-install --modules=raid mdraid /dev/sda and the generated
core.img was just 28 KiB so enough to embed.

Based on the upstream comment, I'm not 100% sure all the bugs I've duped
to this one are indeed the same bug, but the data collected so far on
each of them matches. We may need to undupe them if we find a better
way to differentiate them, or find the fix to this one doesn't fix all
of them.
