I see this too, but only when I plug in power when the laptop is running. If I
boot up with AC connected, the disk does not spin down. Probably the system
just misses the transition from battery to AC here.
I assume it has something to do with laptop-mode missing the event. After I

You could do what I have done and that was install a server as a central
sharing point. The linux pcs access the server using NFS and the XP
machines via samba. Perhaps I shouldnt say it b(here!) - but I used FC
for the server! All has been well ever since.

Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention. Unfortunately a paper
cut should be a small usability issue that affects many people and is
quick and easy to fix. I'm afraid this bug can't be addressed as part of
this project.
This is a new feature and needs usability testing. Also shutdown,
I can't say it's reproducible, because it happening for very first time
since I'm in karmic.

After installing mplayer on 9.04 and trying to watch a movie I was
geting this error message flashing continiously, I solved the problem by
going to preferences, audio and changing it from alsa to pulse.
Perhaps, given 9.04 is using pulse audio and that's the setting that
makes mplayer behave,

scan code of the key which is wrong. (See comment 7).
On current karmic, you can use sudo /lib/udev/keymap -i input/event3
to figure out the scan code. (See /usr/share/doc/udev-
extras/README.keymap.txt).

I don't see the difference with the information I attached yesterday, but here
it is.
Reading back my own report I noticed that 1 thing might be unclear: I mentioned
the internal speaker, but i'm not referring to the pcspeaker, I am referring
to the onboard sound card which is connected to
This is interesting --- I definitely get SIGILL, not SIGSEGV, in the
mono binary. I did try installing f-spot-dbgsym, but this didn't seem
to give me any debug symbols even when explicitly attempting to load
them with symbol-file /usr/lib/debug/usr/bin/mono in GDB.
The instruction at PC is pop
Note: for the reasons given above, this issue should not be assumed to
be fixed for Karmic unless someone has tried to reproduce it on a
Babbage board.

Ah, that's interesting. Your problem is a duplicate of bug 264336.
However, I was unable so far to reproduce this. I just wonder why
starting postgresql a little later suddenly makes _more_ shared memory
