I can reproduced the problem on both jaunty karmic (git commit
fbd7e6585b121f5b3c6f43150eb96c8c99307a43) AMD64 and tested the patches
on the kernels. This patch solved the error in /proc/iomem on both
kernels.

Indeed, the patch does fix it. I applied the 2 patches attached here,
disabled 90_relibtoolize.patch from the series, then fakeroot
debian/rules binary to build the packages and rebooted after installing
them. All mounts are working again via nautilus.

After the latest updates, I too cannot get my external drive to mount.

I'm not even able to login in command line interface. I have tried
ctrl+alt+f1-f7 but no go.
So I have tried recovery mode as root and I can see the log files in
/var/log/dist-upgrade/ but I'm not able to see my HDD mounted which has
FAT and NTFS file system for Win XP to copy those log

While removing unwanted xserver-xorg-video-vmware package via
KPackageKit I got this error (similar to the Bug #388536 reported by
Jonathan Thomas) :
It defaults to 640 x 480 you can't change it or any other settings. It
does work at that setting, though. It just freezes on my machine after a few
seconds when I try to record in Cheese.
The Windows driver has from 180 x ??, 320 x 240, 640 x 480 and I believe
600 x 800, but not positive.

Just tested - yes, this fixes the problem. The screen sometimes flashes
white when you open/close too quickly, but at least it no longer
freezes/whatever it did.

What is the ETA for this bug? When can we expect the fix? I have Lenovo
W500 with Ubuntu 9.04. I had 8.10, I did a network upgrade to this
distribution and after this I am facing overheat problem. Is there a
