Ok, the xserver-xorg-input-synaptics package wasn't installed. Once
installed and rebooted, the touchpad works again. I have to use three
fingers plus the button to right-click, but thats another bug that is

I'm not sure if unetbootin is the best way to create the image. If you have
another machine running Linux already, you could follow this process:
1. Download the desired .img file
2. Open a terminal and insert your flash media
3. Look at the output of dmesg | tail -20 to determine the device node

When removing mythexport it will try to remove the following directories
incorrectly:
/var/www/.mythtv
/var/www/mythexport
As a temporary fix you can remove these by hand before removing
mythexport.

I run 64-bin Jaunty (current kernel 2.6.28-13-generic) on a Dell
Inspiron 1721 laptop. I have recently noticed that some of the USB
ports/devices have ceased to work. For example, I have a USB mouse
plugged, it is powered (I see its laser working), I also see it in
lsusb, but
I installed a kernel update (2.6.28-13-generic), and the problem is
back. Any clues?

I can confirm this, both on ubuntu 9.04 desktop edition, and ubuntu 9.04
server edition. I am trying to set up get my ubuntu home server to be a
server for pulse audio so that I can plug stationary speakers into the
server and have "wireless" speakers on my lan. You can read about my
