/usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/10osvendor/ and it does not work for me.

To my unending shame, the patch (and, by extension, the debdiff) is
wrong... one should never add a new entry in an array without resizing
the bloody thing. Corrected patch submitted upstream.

Again... this solution is not the right approach. Fixing it as is being
done now , doesnt address the usability issue and we need to fix this
properly, these templates are not specific to the user , one size doesnt
fit all.

This is a bug that applies only to the Classic Kmenu in KDE 4.2.4
(though if i recall correctly, i've seen it since 4.1).
Regardless of whether i'm using Kmenu as-is right after installing, or
after customizing and adding/deleting stuff or moving items and folders

instead of Name (Description).

I am reopening this bug. I have had several occasions now were update-
manager, synaptic, and gdebi-gtk have hung because of not having enough
privileges to finish. In all cases if I open terminal and perform the
same job using sudo the job finished successfully.

After specifying a UK keyboard during installation, the keyboard mapping

why do you want to merge this if you say no remaining changes? plus why

Well, I've not tried up until just now - but I've just installed the latest
PyPe from the Jaunty (9.04) repository (currently supplying version 2.5) and
it seems to work fine. This is on Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04 AMD64.
