I can confirm that his wishlist bug is accurate. This is indeed
something that needs to be sent upstream.

i am running ubuntu 9.04.
Empathy imported my MSN account just fine.
Would screen captures or something similar help?
I can't get to it tonight, as I have work in the morning. but If you ask for
some screen caps I'll walk through the import process again.

deleting my self-installed /usr/local/bin/python.
Maybe totem should explicitly use /usr/bin/python instead of the one

Trying upstream 2.24.0 , 2.24.1, & 2.24.2 with the server kernel config
all work without issue. I also tried 2.6.25 before and that worked
without issue also.
So their appears to be a patch in our kernel that has caused a
regression.

successful, I can retrofit the patch.
Thanks,
Fabrice

I must agree with Sebastien that nautilus and evince (that I have
tested) do use that busy cursor. I wouldn't report this but to the 100
paper cuts now because they have already chosen them for this Ubuntu
release. Since it seems that it the 100 paper cuts was successful they
may do it for the 10.0
