Same problem for me on Thinkpad T400 with 2.6.28.13 kernel 64bit, with
pretty much identical log files. Actually, the 2.6.28.13 kernel is much
more stable for me (maybe 1 freeze per few days) vs the 2.6.28.14 and
2.6.28.15 kernels (every few hours it seems). Maybe you guys could try
installing 13 a
debian/patches/evdev-fix.diff was dropped sometime in between but I
can't see it in debian/changelog

Yes, Karmic shows the exact same behaviour. The only difference is that
/bin/sh points to /bin/dash nowdays, however creating a link to
/bin/bash named sh shows the same behaviour as the original bug report:

I'm gathering that either there's a bug in mesa or libdrm, or else
compiz needs to be updated in order to work properly with the new mesa.

After downgrading libdrm and mesa to the versions in the x-retro PPA,
the issue seems to have gone away. Previously, compiz would freeze
reliably after <5 min usage. With the x-retro ppa I've been running now

Yes, this bug still affects me. Tonight for testing purposes I removed
all of the old OpenOffice.org install and turned off the PPA. I then
rebooted and installed the repository version of OpenOffice.org. The new
installation had the same problem under kernel 15. However, upon reboot
into kernel 14
the last upgrades of grub2 config drop me now at startup with two lines of
comments about "minimal bash-like line ..." before grub menu pop up 10 secondes
later. During that time hdd are noisy: grub seem to search the kernels.
Then the countdown start & finally boot. Looking at logs, i can't find

installed new Ubuntu 9.04 32-bit desktop version. Everything else is
