Look at bug #388291 - that is a true duplicate of my reported bug but

Tried starting gdm via sudo /etc/init.d/start gdm - failed. The original error

Well, just create a new user named 'admin'. That's how you reproduce the bug.
Be sure to have some sort of a rescue CD nerarby, though.
