I was able to fix it a bit.
* I had to comment out an existing eth0 connection.
* Add a new connection available for all users (which disappeared) using
nm-connection-editor running as root (with sudo).
* Then restart networking with the init.d script and NetworkManager with the
Upstart

I am using the Karmic Kubuntu Netbook Remix on a Lenovo Ideapad S10
(GMA950) and I am still experiencing this issue with xserver-xorg-video-
intel 2:2.8.1-1ubuntu2 installed. Logout returns me to a blank screen
with only my mouse cursor. I am able to drop to TTY though and restart
kdm manually

In my particular case the problem is that coreutils probably picks none
or the wrong value for ST_NBLOCKS for the VBOXSF file system. I looked
at the du source in the coreutils-7.4 source and it appears like

Isaías, i got no progress with rfkill. Appear to do notting. And im
still without wireless. BTW, RF Switch dont work anymore (Ill try some
combinations before kernel loading...)

ShutDown (Quit) item was removed from System menu in Ubuntu 8.04
(Hardy), this was Ubuntu developers idea, while users are requesting to
return ShutDown button to the system menu or at least to make an
option to have Shutdown button even if FUSA applet is in GNOME panel,

Unfortunately, it does not seem to be fixed. Did a new install of Karmic
Beta amd64 and tried to connect over wireless to this (http://www.cms
.hu-berlin.de/dl/netze/vpn/openvpn/Ubuntu9.04/ unfortunately only in
German) network via openvpn. First, I got the above mentioned wrong VPN
secrets

laptop batteries, but also manages phone, keyboard, mouse, UPS, and
