fine. Once i switch wireless on, a process 'iwl3945' soon starts taking
up 100% of CPU (on one out of two CPU's), causing a freeze.

Be problem is in src/palimpsest/gdu-section-partition.c as the Delete

I also face this problem in my MSI Wind U100. This netbook also has bug
#435352 but I think the two issues are not related. It happens quite
randomly and typically stops when you either switches terminals, login,
change brightness, etc. I would say it is just the issue described in

running karmic as a virtualbox machine I noticed that the vboxadd user
(listed as # 999 if memory serves - I am not on my machine right now, I will

I don't know why the fix doesn't work , but I installed version 0.9.2 and would

I found the reason that OO writer freezes: From a certain version above 3.0 up,
writer can no longer handle larger files in web layout. My file (180kB) was
stored in web layout mode. I had to open it with OO 2.4.3, switch to print
layout and save it to be able to open it with OO 3.0 and above.

If /etc/fstab contain error the boot process stop with no error message,
in safe-mode too.
I think boot process must put a panic console like previous version of
ubuntu.
In my case i have add the line :
/mnt/disk/home /homenonedefaults,bind 0 1
instead
Booting with wireless enabled causes the system to freeze in an early
stage, to be precise: right after the message Setting up console fonts
and keymap... is printed.

Hi,
Thank you for your support.
The mic is working in ubuntu live cd on the same laptop.So i think the
problem is only with OS.I can re-install the ubuntu distribution.

I used gsynaptics to disable touchpad but every time I lock and unlock
the screen, my touchpad is enabled again.
Steps to reproduce:
