You can anytime deinstall this kernel with sudo dpkg -P linux-

Language-selector (Language Support) calls the fontconfig-voodoo script to set

In Karmic kernel 2.6.31-14 the same thing happens, but in Jaunty kernel
2.6.28-14 I get a mounting problem message on a specific floppy
(attached). I'm able to mount other floppies afterwards with no problems

both Jaunty and Karmic. kdetv worked on Jaunty, but no longer works in

Newbie to Ubuntu - Installed 9.04 from CD to Sata 80gb few weeks ago -
everything run smoothly. I needed to dual boot with a Sata 250 WinXP HDD
- Yesterday I've download 9.10 to CD - Loaded/Installed Ubuntu 9.10 over
9.04 -GNU Grub states WinX
I have pretty much come to the conclusion this is a udev problem.The
only way the hso driver could have been called into play to replace SCSI
emulation for USB on the ZeroCD is via a udev action, and this udev
action is clearly where the breakage is located.

This is either a gnome-applets bug or a gnome-panel bug , But upstream
has it as a gnome-panel bug hence I'v added it as such.
Upstream has a patch , for this. Maybe , something we can consider for
Lucid?

This is not a theme bug. But rather a gnome panel bug , pls see the related
upstream bug report.
As for this being a reason to not use the monochrome icons in the default
install . I dont see this as a valid reason.

Yep, still an issue with 9.10. I burnt a new Ubuntu CD (with copy check
afterwards) and booted it: the same problems with no or slow boot, and a lot of
error messages.
I rebooted and let the CD check itself for defects: everything is OK.
I then booted with acpi=off noapic, and still a slow boot

Yes, I was using Ubuntu 9.10 amd 64 when showed me the crash message so I
clicked to report problem, after that I have restarted my laptop and now is all
ok.
