I have a similar problem when playing a dvd in Karmic 9.10 If i right
click and eject it unmounts but if you press the button on the dvd
player it opens but does not unmount, but it did in jaunty 9.04 no
problem There must be a way to fix this?

firstly, sorry for not debbugging the issue in Karmic (sony laptop used for
work), so this post is purely informative, but may help the debbuging
process.
To better understand we the bug should be here is some technical infos :

I followed solution #1 from your post in the other bug, R1d0. I can tell
that my emulator works perfectly again now.
I had to start it with -sound 48000 to get sound working, but you

I have been getting errors on npviewer since upgrading to 9.10 (64 bit).
I am also unable to play flash videos. The player does not fully load.
In 9.04, I often used to get npviewer.bin taking excessive CPU while idle so
regularly had to abort the program.

OK, as before, I removed fglrx entirely, modified xorg.conf and
rebooted. Finally, some success! I can now use Firefox in the native
resolution. (Otherwise still no background, no desktop icons, only the
toolbars, and windows open/close/move very slowly.) I've attached the
Xorg.0.log for this boot

- case 2: use of restart menu choice ; session is closed correctly but
system is not stopped; need to power off manually

When rhythmbox is running it shows a status icon in the notification
area. Since Ubuntu 9.10, the default icons in this part of the screen
are flat and gray. The rhythmbox icon is, however, neither. It would be
nice if the icon could match the

I don't think purging Wine actually helped here. The real issue is
probably the linked one - Wine can take 5 minutes or so to start when
the printer is unavailable due to CUPS blocking. What likely happened
is the printer became available during the time you were
uninstalling/reinstalling Wine.
Guys - before saying same here, note that my original report was not
just that suspend/resume does not work - but a very specific case that
suspend/resume works once and then suspend fails.
I've now also noticed that after the first successful suspend/resume the
notebooks screen will no longer

is a duplicate of one of those compiz bugs cannot be true today 2009-11-08 on
