Hi, I have reinstalled drivers version 96 (96.43.13) and Ubuntu starts
without problem with resolution 1024 * 768 85Hz but now the problem is

I have the same problem, it seems happen with nvidia driver 180 and even the
latest self-compiled driver. I suspected that it might be upgrade-related,
though, as I had kubuntu 9.04 installed earlier (where KDM worked flawlessly
with any nvidia driver) and upgraded it through update-manager when

I have exactly the same problem in my ASUS W5F and 9.10 Karmic Koala
freshly installed. The WIFI/BLUETOOTH hardswitch turns off both the BT
and WIFI leds. When I try to soft disable them with the gnome tray icons
just the WIFI led is turned off, the BT led always stays on.

Thanks for the information. Just for clarification, is it required that
both of the steps be taken? Many users have found it sufficient to
install just the package, others have noticed that just the line is

The notebook fails resuming after suspending it, that means, the screen
rests dark and I have to kill the processes by 'ugly' power down. This
only happens if before the extern harddisk (by firewire) is mounted. In
all other cases suspending and resuming works properly.

Update: Kubuntu 9.10 x64 can install and run successfully. This ACPI_PSS
error seem to be connected with BIOS which the Ubuntu team has no
control over, but it's not only that.
Why would Kubuntu install and run and Ubuntu not? Does this help isolate
the "problem"?

I have what appears to be the same problem after an upgrade. I reported
Bug #478727. At the current stage of managing a boot after 30 min with
various tries I cannot be sure it is nvidia xorg. I have nvidia 185
drivers.
