I have a theory as to the cause. I'm experiencing this in Chromium with
Compiz on, but I don't think it's the fault of either. When you hover
over certain buttons/items in a flash box, they register as links with
the OS, and the mouse changes to show that. For most cursors it changes
to be a han

Seems the work-around of setting the GDK_NATIVE_WINDOWS environment

Can you manually mount sda6?
It could be that the ntfs partition is corrupted, boot into windows, run
`chkdsk /r` within the drive where you installed wubi, check that
C:\ubuntu\disks\root.disk is still there, and try to reboot into Ubuntu.

Still not clear what the pattern is... howver, whenever I've had a
system that hung in boot because swap was "wrong", I've got out of it by
doing a boot in recovery mode. It appears that a recovery boot
serialises well enough that the system waits until swap/cryptswap is
formatted properly.

Not sure if this helps, but I've rebooted twice and Gnome can't seem to
remember the positions of the panels or the icons, making random changes
to icon positions and moving my un-expanded bottom panel back to the
top.
The only way I've been able to get the bottom panel to stay on the
