It seems that you missunderstand the situation. What Ubuntu installs
under the name mkisofs is not mkisofs but a fork made from a completely
outdated version with many bugs added and with many features missing.
Ubuntu does not have the permission to install something that is not
the real mkisofs
Any ideas when that really annoying bug will be fixed by the regular
updates without using a ppa or proposed update? For a workaround I
installed the tool eee-control in karmic UNR.

So, I downloaded the complete i386-DVD of Karmic.
After installation of it an updated kernel I installed the Broadcom 802.11
Linux STA wireless driver and the wifi works fine now.
With the new installation I have changed my file system to ext4 now and

I can reproduce this bug with the stable firefox 3.5.5, and also the
pre-3.5.6 and 3.6beta from the mozilla ppa. The unstable versions didn't
work for me.
32 bit Karmic, nVidia GeForce 7600 GS, nvidia drivers version 185.
