This is really probably because of Qt 4.6. KDE 4.3.x was never tested
with Qt 4.6 as it was intended to be used with Qt 4.5 since 4.6 was in
beta at the time. Things should resolve themselves once the KDE 4.4
betas hit Lucid. If not, please direct all KDE application crashes to

Despite a complete re-installation and reversion to GRUB to enable familiar
menu.lst configuration for multi-OS operation, I see that this bug hasn't been

Have this issue too, upgrading pulseaudio to
0.9.21-0ubuntu2~~karmic~ubuntuaudiodev1 didn't solve the problem.
I have attached the syslog with messages from pulseadio & alsa.
After crash I see only 'clicks' instead of sound in speakers.

Back when I reported this, UbuntuOne was indeed crashing and bringing up
the error dialog when I invoked the preferences dialog. A few updates
later (now) I've not seen a crash again since. Whatever crashed then is
not occuring now... I can say that Python was updated at least once
