noticed in synaptic that tcl 8.3, 8.4 and 8.5 were all installed. I

I confirm this issue on a Lenovo X300 6478. The tip given by Jack Lecou
works for me on both Karmic Koala and Lucid Lynx Alpha 2, either in 32
bits or 64 bits.
I confirm the same misbehavior while selecting the Internal Analog
Stereo device.
