I installed bind9 as a caching nameserver.
(BTW, kudos for the simplest BIND installation ever seen !!!)
But BIND could overload my router's NAT table with UDP DNS requests.
So, ... I uninstalled bind9.
BIND did not

to be present in Firefox 3.7. However, I have confirmed this bug on
Firefox 3.6.2 on Ubuntu 10.04.
Strangely, the Archive Manager was not found for the tar.gz file you
provided, but it was found just fine for other tar.gz

I think I know what it /could/ be! I have been using a clean (no-nvidia,
no-xorg.conf) system for a while now and today I removed plymouth:
sudo apt-get purge ^.*plymouth.*\$
Anyway, upon installing NVIDIA 195.36.08 through Jockey, this is the
/third/ restart and Compiz through OpenGL is working

I can confirm this is happening to me on a running machine, making it hang (
not responding to pings whatsoever ).
What i have is a script that creates a snapshot of a lvm volume, mounts it and
starts a backup program, which then backups on another drive.

It is possible that this happened by the fault of myself. While I first
installed grub2 on this lucid alpha-mashine the upgrade-manager asked me
on what disks and partitions the boot-manager is going to be installed.
So I guess that I selected all ones and by that overrote the MBRs of the

Here is a workaround I found on the Ubuntu forums. Credit goes to Dr
Small. I have confirmed this workaround works with Karmic and Lucid,

Just to let you know that I upgraded to Lucid. I also returned the
Atheros card in my computer (I was using a Ralink USB stick for a
while). I still see the failed messages.

I tested printing the attached djvu file again on Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid
Lynx alpha 3, with evince 2.29.91-0ubuntu1, and updated to the latest
versions of poppler (0.12.4-0ubuntu1) and libcairo2 (1.8.10-2ubuntu1).
The results were identical except that the document eventually printed
after 5 hours.
