I've just checked this and the system test no longer appears to run the
appropriate test. I manually switched around, and this appears to be
working properly now. I had a whole bunch of other programs have
issues... but not in the way described here.

probably obsolete. If anyone is still having quiet sound, it's probably

I was able to find the information elsewhere to download and compile the
latest ALSA drivers, which fixed the problem.

Dear Jeremy. I no longer have the MB in question nor Ubuntu on the affected
computer. Together with some other problems Ubuntu turned out as inappropriate
for my usage scenarios.
Therefore I switched to another OS which had fewer issues.

Yes it is about the partition mount in /media/sda2.I change the save
location to my root partition and it didnt hangs.It their a problem
