the author said it'd crash the server on exit, but I couldn't reproduce
it on two systems where I tried. Turns out that he had MALLOC_PERTURB_

I see. Well, I realized about the limitation of XKB when I was trying to do
the same thing a year ago.
Regarding the new layout, I haven't try it yet since I'm using Windows and

But the new icon suggestion looks more aged , than the rest of the icons.
And it introduces new shades in the theme, we would want to keep a consistent
color palate , for example: the blue in the current icon is same as in
