Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: dvgrab
$ dvgrab -a tape-
Error: no camera exists
Solved by doing:
$ sudo chmod -v a+rw /dev/*1394
$ dvgrab -a tape-
Error: no camera exists
while the camcorder is well connected.
This issue is not new, had the same with Kubuntu 9.10. The same hardware
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: eclipse
It seems wrong to me that I can run:
apt-get install eclipse
And I will end up with a broken Eclipse, namely one that can't compile
anything, because only a JRE was installed, not JDK (so javac is missing).

The bug still occurs when I boot, and can be fixed in the described way –
however, I can't fix it permanently, as it seems.
Also of interest is that another user on this machine, who also runs compiz,
doesn't experience this problems.
