You can mount the partitions on your harddrive using the Live CD, yes,

I solved the problem, thanks to Peteris Krisjanis from the Gnome Network
Manager mailing list, by adding a line option to /etc/modules.
I don't know if this is a solution to the problem reported or just a
workaround, but it works.

I'm using a 64 bit Lucid and propose the following two workarounds:
1.) Mount only your mp3 directory and import the .gvfs folder into the
library (imports everything).
2.) As I'm not happy with the first solution I developed a second
approach which lets one import any folder or file from
