Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: udev
Following an upgrade to Lucid, udev fails during boot. It also fails
when I log into the maintenance console and try. I tried to log the
output but for some reason the redirects don't work. The machine is now
unusable.

Ping!
I have the same (?) problem, that gpm reported energy-full=951 and
percentage3%.
After reading some reports and digging deeper into the new devkit-power based
architecture, I simply killed upowerd and restarted it by calling:
upower -d
which reports a more reasonable value (33 Wh) now.
