GerryG, you mention this but I wanted to confirm that it worked for me.
I changed /etc/init/mysql.conf
start on (net-device-up
and local-filesystems
and runlevel[2345])
stop on runlevel [016]
to
start on (net-device-up IFACE=lo and local-filesystems)
stop on runlevel [016]
I don't know what fixed this. I did install Nvidia Hardware drivers and
the latest updates. This error did not appear when starting.

Oh, this package has been around for a bit. Riddell uploaded a merge of
it on the 7th. ;)
It had to be merged since we add a missing dependency on vlc. I did this
an hour or two ago with the latest version:
https://edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/phonon-backend-
vlc/0.2.0-1ubuntu1
At any rate,
Thanks, but this is a deliberate decision because Mozilla offer no ABI
guarantee between minor releases and the libraries are not properly
versioned. For us to consider installing in the default search path, the
libraries should be correctly versioned and offer some guarantee of ABI
stability
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.
However, processing it in order to get sufficient information for the
developers failed (it does not generate an useful symbolic stack trace).
This might be caused by some outdated packages which were installed on
