The segfault seems to be caused by the attempt to show the error message in a
dialog window from the thread that handles libgnokii calls.
Problem is that currently there is no way for the thread to show an error
message in the GUI.

binary on local machine in order to install it, that mandates we use one

1. In the BIOS disabled "USB legacy support"
2. Boot with kernel parameter "usbcore.autosuspend=-1"

the BIOS settinng is absolutely necessary because my harddisk isn't made
for frequent spin-downs.

10.04.1 is weeks away. It is not likely that a fix for this would make
the cutoff for 10.04

It is looking like this is an issue triggered by usb-creator. It seems
to be supplying the syslinux version from the host onto the stick
instead of using the one in the image. Confirmed that making real
maverick CDs on a lucid system boot correctly. The image has version
4.01 in it.

up in euca-describe-instances with both public and private IPs set to
0.0.0.0, and stay in pending for a while (in our tests, around 20
