add the log out applet to your panel and try switching users with that?

For the little storie, I actually have a Toshiba laptop with AMD
Turion(tm) 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-60 on it and experienced different
problems with Ubuntu 8.04, 8.10 and now 10.04. I have to say that people
I'm running cu as root and cu doesn't work because it changes its UID to
uucp instead of dialout. It is simple to change the owner and/or
permissions of the devices I use, but the behaviour of cu is still a
bug.

to have an additional feature for all boot capeable Linux filesystems:
- keep the first 32Kib empty and reserved for grub if there is an

I am definitely not having this happen by pressing shift-numlock, but I
connect to this computer (Ubuntu 10.04) with VNC (Remote Desktop) every
day, so it seems likely that is triggering it somehow. Comment #52
contains a workaround, but that definitely isn't a bug fix.

I re-revert the change in alps.c in diff from 2.6.32-22.33 to
2.6.32-23.37. As a result, the Touchpad tab in Preferences - Mouse
